How do I make sure I am buying a genuine Varta battery and not a fake one in Dubai?

Okay so this might sound like an odd question but I genuinely got a bit worried after talking to a colleague at work last week. I have been planning to replace my car battery for a while now and everyone keeps recommending Varta but my colleague told me he once bought what he thought was a genuine Varta battery from a random shop and it failed within eight months. He said there are quite a few places selling fake or low quality batteries with Varta branding on them which honestly I had never even thought about before. I started doing some research and came across which had some useful information and seemed to be focused specifically on genuine Varta products. I also searched for Varta Genuine Battery Shop Dubai to see what options came up and got a better idea of what to actually look for when buying. Apparently genuine Varta batteries have specific markings and come with proper documentation that cheap knockoffs usually do not have. My car is about four years old and the battery has never been replaced so I know it is time but I really do not want to go through the hassle of a failed battery again six months later especially in this heat. Has anyone here in Dubai had experience buying Varta and can tell me how to spot a genuine one versus a fake? Also does it matter which model or type of Varta battery I get or is it basically the same across the range?
